Greater strength, greater flexibility.
AMA Cardan Pro introduces a new plastic guard featuring a profiled tube with a variable cross-section and increased dimensions, designed to enhance structural strength and ensure greater stability during operation. Its distinctive geometry prevents relative rotation between the plastic tubes, maintains correct alignment between the two guard halves and allows the use of a single safety chain instead of two, simplifying installation on the machine.
The Easy Lock system enables quick installation and removal of the guard from the drive shaft’s metal tubes using standard tools. Designed to comply with CE requirements, it facilitates shaft adjustment, shortening and maintenance, while providing direct access to the guard ring lubrication point.
The protection system is completed by a quick-release rubber bellows, which can be easily removed and reinstalled even in confined spaces or near adjacent components, such as protective cones. The interchangeability of long and short bellows provides greater flexibility during assembly and configuration.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Integrated lubrication
The system allows the space between the telescopic tubes to be lubricated through an external grease point, accessible even when the PTO drive shaft is installed on the machine, without the need for disassembly. This solution promotes smooth, consistent sliding, reducing friction and axial forces on the PTO while simplifying maintenance operations.
Self-lubrication
A grease chamber integrated into the male metal tube, enclosed by an internal plastic tube, distributes the lubricant evenly during rotation. The system ensures continuous lubrication and extended operating autonomy, contributing to long-term reliability and reducing minor downtime, even in heavy-duty applications. It also remains fully functional after the drive shaft has been shortened.
Strength and performance
AMA Cardan Pro offers higher power transmission capacity and design solutions focused on mechanical strength and operational continuity. Depending on the configuration, it can incorporate heat-treated and/or surface-treated sliding tubes, special-material quenched and tempered yokes, universal joints with extended lubrication intervals and heat-treated splines, where required.
Configuration flexibility
Quick-release systems and interchangeable bellows make it easier to adapt the drive shaft to different application requirements, simplifying assembly operations while reducing the need for pre-assembly and optimising inventory management.
Ease of handling
Quick-assembly systems, the use of a single safety chain and easily accessible lubrication points simplify installation, adjustment and maintenance, reducing intervention times and the risk of errors. These features provide tangible benefits for OEM manufacturers, distributors and end users.
